How Technology Can Aid Financial Education

Technology can be a useful tool when it comes to delivering financial education.

Traditional vs Tech

Let’s start off by making it clear that we are not saying that teaching using technology is better than traditional teaching methods.

Traditional learning methods enable in-person interactions, where learners can directly share their views and thoughts, and of course, some of us may wish to limit the amount of time we spend looking at screens.

However, when used right, technology can help enhance people’s learning experience by making it more accessible and engaging.

Benefits of Technology for Learning

Technology can allow learners to access educational resources at their own pace and revisit any content they are unsure on. This can allow for a more personalised learning experience, and can foster a sense of independence, where learners feel like they have more control over their learning journey.

Some individuals may also find that technological aids make educational content more engaging, as it can be more interactive and can help explain difficult concepts in more visual ways.

According to the Learning and Work Institute’s ‘Adult Participation in Learning Survey’, adults who used technology to learn identified that it:

  • Made it easier to learn from home (48%)
  • Made it easier to learn at a convenient time (43%)
  • Made learning more interesting (29%)

However, the survey also found a lack of confidence in using technology to learn and work. Therefore, it’s important that any technology used is accessible for learners, easy-to-understand, and that support is there for those struggling to use it.

Red Star Education’s Blend of Technology and In-Person Teaching

At Red Star Education, we want to provide the best learning experience possible for all of our learners. Red Star Education are experts in delivering impartial financial education and wellbeing workshops and courses for all age groups over the UK. We have been working with elite sporting academies since 2014 and are adept at delivering in-person courses that can be tailor-made to best suit the learning requirements of our learners, whether it be talking to employees during our Wellbeing in the Workplace offering or young football scholars at professional academies.

However, as well as this, we recognise the benefits that technology can bring when it comes to financial education. We set up our online financial education academy with our learners in mind, creating engaging, easy-to-understand, short educational videos that can be accessed online. Our online system is easy to navigate, and we are available for any questions you might have at office@redstareducation.co.uk.

Our system allows you to follow your learning journey on your own terms at your own pace, and allows flexibility such as being able to revisit content by rewatching our videos as many times as you like. As well as our definitive financial education course, we offer mini-courses and bundles for those who wish to personalise their learning experience and learn more about specific topics.

So, whether you feel you would benefit more from in-person discussions, or through online tools, Red Star Education can cater to your needs!
